It’s ridiculous to welcome you to this blog.

Partly because as I write this post the blog is still private and no one will see it until some point in the near future when I’m ready to flip the switch, but mostly because this blog isn’t exactly new. That is, I’ve been blogging for several years now, but under an assumed name.

Well, that stops here. Patrick Sherriff is my real name, complete with the two “r”s and two “f”s. If you want to find out about what I’m up to day to day, what I think about politics, the state of journalism today or what on earth is going on in Japan, you’d be better advised to look elsewhere.

But if you want to read the latest books and other scraps of writing that I’ve published, you are in the right place. Welcome.
