I’ve been trying to read this series in order, but living in Japan, I get what I can get and this is the 21st in the Inspector Montalbano series, a good dozen ahead of where I’ve got up to… but it still works. The inspector is still as eccentric, comical yet moral as ever and while the tale takes a turn into the darker crimes that families can commit, all the enjoyable elements of the series are present without breaking into new ground.
No. 37 of 100 books I intend to read and review in 2019.
